CATEGORYPrintCLIENTSelf InitiatedABOUT"Road to O"I hand made this french folded book and bespoke 180gsm greencoat offset slipcase in order to serve as my progress map for my dissertation, the title of which is "Can it be shown that Graphic Design played a pivotal role in the election of Barack Obama and to what extent is there a new visual language in America?"Taking inspiration from the Obama campaign, I created a Twitter progress map, which seemed extremely apt to the subject matter due to the campaign embracing Twitter as a social medium, however I was not allowed to hand in a digital version and thus created this book.It's primarily typographic, giving prominence to the actual tweets themselves but also allowing me to elaborate beyond the 140 character limitations in the form of secondary notes.The booklet can be viewed as a french folded book or unfolded in order to see it's nearly 100 page entirety, thus allowing one to see the whole picture and making it easy to see patterns and correlations of when certain events took place. To make this easier still, the tweets were grouped into types of events and then colour coded, meaning the viewer could easily identify the research, writing, interviewing, planning, production and advice and proofing stages.
